Dear Christian, I would like to personally thank you, Rock, Yut, Yai, Gerry, Apichi and all the rest of the staff at Pattaya Kombat Group, for the training experience of a lifetime! My Martial Arts experience level as a student and as an Instructor was truly enhanced by your program. I was there from the 9th to the 30th of Oct. 2011. This was my first time training in Thailand, which had been a dream of mine since I started Muay Thai 8 years ago. I had trained overseas before in different Martial Arts disciplines with the Marine Corps. This however, was the first time I went to a foreign country on my own and was able to fully immerse myself in my training.
I went to Kombat Group to train and take the Muay Thai Instructor Course, then train and take the Krav Maga Instructors seminar with Itay Gil and Gerry Nolan. First, I didn’t know what to expect training in Thailand, I did my research and found everything I was looking for in one package at your facility. Along with your credentials and staff, there was no question where I was going to train. Through our correspondence, you were very good about responding quickly and professionally to all my questions (I had a few too)!
From the moment I arrived, you greeted me with kindness and professionalism. It was a little adjustment on my part (being Monsoon season)! But I quickly snapped into the schedule and soaked up as much training as I could! Plus the accommodations were very comfortable and the staff they were very hospitable. Having the opportunity to train with different trainers was very rewarding and enjoyable. Giving you the chance to learn things from different angles and view points, only makes one a better fighter. As my training progressed I got assigned to Rock and Yut to finalize my training for my Instructor Test in Bangkok. I truly felt a bond and connection with Rock and his style of instruction, you really felt that he really cared about your progress and it showed in his coaching. I enjoyed Yut’s no-nonsense approach to preparing me for the course, being able to test at WMF in Bangkok in front of his Kru was an honor I will never forget. Then getting the opportunity to train and test under Itay Gil in Tactical Krav Maga was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
Gerry was great with handling the entire seminar and logistics and was a wealth of knowledge and help. I was very impressed with the level of instruction I received at the seminar and I know, confidently that I can use, demonstrate and teach these very effective techniques in any situation. Which is something that is hard to find in true Combatives, or Martial Arts instruction, especially in only 5 day’s! The Tactical Shooting Course with Geir was a great opportunity to brush up what I already knew and learn some new techniques for weapons handling and proficiency. Geir’s instruction was top shelf and was very good about being patient and explaining all the details of fine tuning your shooting skills. Overall, it was an amazing experience that will forever be with me and will continue to mold how I train personally and professionally.
As a former U.S. Marine Infantry Sgt., a Professional MMA fighter, a Martial Artist with over 20 years experience and a MMA/Muay Thai instructor for 6 over years now, the training I received at Kombat Group, was by far the best, most intense and most rewarding experience to date. I thank you so much for this fantastic time and I look forward to further trips and opportunities to train with Kombat Group.
